David Wilson moved from Illinois to Bradenton, Florida in 1982 and established his first stucco company, R&W Stucco,  in 1984. Fifteen years later, he was operating as Stoneworks by Wilson, Inc. and employing and training up to 30 men at a time to apply stucco with the particular style and finish he had developed over the years, and to properly install the veneer stone which had just been introduced to the area.

In 2004, David and his wife, Carol, sold the company to move to Colorado, hoping for a slower paced life after a highly successful run during the building boom in the Sarasota/Bradenton area in the late 90s through the early 2000s. Although they had planned to  get out of the construction business, their reputation followed them, and they found a continual demand for David's stone setting skills. In 2010, they returned to Florida, where nicer weather and a year-round building season was more conducive to their trade.

Because Florida was still slowly recovering from the economic down turn, David extended his services to include other trades such as flooring, paint, bathroom renovations, and other non-structural remodels.

Stoneworks by Wilson, LLC was established in 2018, bringing the main focus of the company back to the stucco and stone work that had always prompted a thriving business  over the years. We offer both commercial and residential new construction, remodels, and repairs. We are also happy to offer various other services for your projects, including  bathroom and kitchen remodels, flooring, trim work, and painting.
